We handle 3 to 9 mm Japanese AKOYA Cultured Pearls. We buy directly from row crop farmers in Ise, Shikoku, Kyushu, and we process the pearls ourselves.
Japanese AKOYA Cultured Pearls have good luster, color and tranceparence which other kinds of pearls don't have.
Also good quality of Japanese AKOYA Cultured Pearls will never loose their value, because quantities of produce are limited.

When export of cultured pearl just started, competition was firece with the natural pearl in the European market, and cultured pearls were sometimes suspected to be imitations. However, once a French scientist made an announcement that "A spherical cultured pearl is intrinsically the same as the natural pearl", cultured pearl gained unprecedted popularity all over the world. Since then Japan has been the center of trade for cultured pearls and "MOMME" has been unitilized as an international weight unit for trading pearls.
